One Voice: A Black History Narrative is a journey through the African American experience by virtue of seven powerful voices. JDew portrays six of the characters spanning from the 1820s through present day. Characters include: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Frederick Douglass, and Barack Obama. Although many know of the impact these figures have had in American history, few have seen their works performed up-close-and-personal.
After contemplating a “Black History” stage production for about 18 months, “One Voice: A Black History Narrative” was born, and debuted at the Warehouse Theatre in Greenville, SC, in 2011. The show was so well received, that several local business requested to have the show come to their organizations for encore performances for their groups.
Ever since, JDew has taken “the show on the road,” and is excited to be able to offer performances on school campuses, corporate functions, churches, and special events and seminars. Because of the value of “One Voice,” JDew has performed for over 18,000 people since the premiere.
